Local feel, regional presence, national reach

History

Anthony Hoskisson was one of the founders of Questa Financial Services Ltd – the Questa Chartered trading style was adopted some time later. Along with Andrew Davidson, Anthony set up the practice in February 2007. Having worked in the financial services sector since the late ‘80’s, Andrew set up his own practice in 1994; this practice being the predecessor of what is known as Questa today. They both shared a vision as to how they wanted the new practice to be shaped; their principal aim was to create a practice that was held with the same esteem as other professions.

Stuart Dewin became a director of the business in 2012. Having achieved chartered financial planner status, Stuart was able to further enhance the standing of the company. The company’s main focus is to strive to be at the very forefront of the industry by providing first-class customer service, combined with innovative financial planning solutions, whilst making the most of technology to enhance the overall client experience.

When the practice was originally formed, there were five financial planners and a mortgage advisor. Today, there are nine long standing financial planners, of which five are from the original advice team, as is the current mortgage advisor. Collectively, these advisors have an excess of 250 years experience within the industry. Anthony and Stuart are extremely proud to lead this team.

The name, Questa, is a derivative of three Latin words which mean finance, profit for gain, seeking and searching – which is what we’re all about.

Our aims have not wavered from the ones we initially set out to achieve – we simply set new goals.

‘The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.’ Michelangelo

This quote has always inspired us and drives us to constantly examine our processes to see how we can best improve them. In fact, each quarter we hold our ‘back office challenge’ to encourage all members of the team to take a step back and analyse all our systems to come up with innovative suggestions.

We’re looking forward to the years ahead.
