Lily to Run Manchester Half Marathon for Local Hospice

Questa Mortgage Consultant, Lily Hoskisson, is preparing to take on the Manchester Half Marathon to raise vital funds for St Ann’s Hospice, a charity providing end-of-life care across Greater Manchester.

Lily will run the 13.1-mile race on Sunday 13 October in support of the hospice, which has been serving the local community for more than 50 years.

St Ann’s Hospice provides specialist care for people living with life-limiting illnesses, delivered both in its three Greater Manchester sites and in patients’ homes. Alongside medical support, the charity offers counselling and bereavement services for families. As an independent charity, it relies heavily on fundraising and donations to cover the £20,000 it costs each day to run its services.

Lily Hoskisson said: “I wanted to use the half marathon as a way to give something back to a charity that really matters to local people. St Ann’s supports thousands of families every year, and I’d love to raise as much as possible to help them continue their work.”

Founded in 1971, St Ann’s Hospice supported over 3,000 patients and their families in 2023. Its care is only possible thanks to community fundraising and the generosity of individual donors.

The Manchester Half Marathon is one of the largest events of its kind in the North West, attracting thousands of runners annually. This year’s course takes participants through the city’s suburbs before finishing close to Old Trafford.

Lily Hoskisson added: “I’ve never run this distance before, but knowing it’s for such an important cause keeps me going through the training. Every donation helps St Ann’s be there for people when they need it most.”

Donations to support Lily’s fundraising for St Ann’s Hospice can be made via Lily’s fundraising page.
