Two Questa Financial Planning team members have successfully added another professional qualification to their records, marking three exam passes for the Questa team in short succession.

Molly Clayton and Oli Billington have both passed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) CF8 Long Term Care Insurance exam. The CF8 qualification enables financial professionals to advise on later-life care planning, including care funding options, taxation, legal frameworks and the role of local authorities.

By completing this exam, Oli and Molly are now formally qualified to offer advice on long-term care insurance – an area of financial planning that is seeing increased client demand due to demographic changes and rising care costs.

Their latest achievement follows fellow Questa colleague Tom Reardon’s recent success in passing the CII’s R02 Investment Principles and Risk exam, announced earlier this month.

Molly Clayton, Financial Planner at Questa, said: “This is an area that comes up more and more in conversations with clients, especially families trying to prepare ahead. The CF8 gave us a real understanding of the options out there and how to help clients feel in control when thinking about care later in life.”

The CF8 qualification covers the regulatory and practical aspects of long-term care advice, including eligibility criteria, funding mechanisms, means testing, and care needs assessments. As demand for later-life financial planning grows, financial planners with this expertise are increasingly expected to have formal certification in the field.

Oli Billington, Paraplanner at Questa, said: “There’s a lot of emotion involved when families start thinking about care. The exam gave us the tools to guide people through the tough questions, especially when it comes to making sense of costs, rules and responsibilities. It’s something I think we’ll use a lot in the months ahead.”

Questa Financial Planning continues to support team members through a structured professional development programme, which has seen multiple staff pass exams in the first half of 2025. Molly and Oli’s earlier successes include passes in the CII’s AF5 Financial Planning Process module, while Molly also passed the AF1 Personal Tax and Trust Planning exam in April.
