Three top places to escape to this Spring

By cfmaster

With the weather finally beginning to warm up and the light lasting longer, it won’t be long before summer is here. But rather than dreaming about booking a holiday that’s still months away, why not enjoy some time away in the spring? It can be a great way to bag a bargain, and means you don’t have to rely on the British climate with all its unpredictabilities. So, where are the best places to head off to this spring? Here’s our rundown of a few destinations you might want to consider:

Havana, Cuba – True, it’s a long way to travel for some sunshine, but spring is by far the best time to enjoy all that Cuba has to offer. The weather is dry, the sun is shining but not unbearably hot (usually between 19℃ and 29℃) and the prices are far more reasonable than at other times of year. Havana is an essential destination, but be sure to make time for the unspoilt white sands of the Caribbean beaches the island has to offer.

Marrakech, Morocco – Situated near the Sahara, the Moroccan capital, Marrakech can be sweltering in the summer and chilly in the winter, making spring the perfect window to experience the city. There are plenty of hotels offering great deals in the months before the summer season begins, and the African landscape is at its most beautiful at this time of year with blossoming trees blanketing the hills.

Zermatt, Switzerland – For those looking to get in some time on the slopes before the snow disappears, Zermatt is one of the best skiing destinations in the spring – the region’s elevation means that there is still plenty of snow to enjoy. Skiing out of high season also brings with it plenty of benefits: not only will your break be cheaper, but, apart from during the Easter holidays, it’s likely to be far quieter. You can even benefit from the warm sun on the terraces away from the slopes, allowing you to comfortably drink and dine al fresco.
